Description
Zerya is a refugee woman in her 50s living in Paris. At the age of 22, on March 16, 1988, she was forced to flee her country due to the chemical gas attack carried out by Saddam Hussein on the city of Halabja. She has been living in France for thirty years. While visiting an art exhibition in Paris, Zerya sees Magritte's “This is Not an Apple” from his series The Treachery of Images. This painting brings Zerya's past traumas to the surface.
